What can I say, just spent a great weekend in Trim at the balloon festival. Asked some locals where to spend Sat & Sun nights and was told in no uncertain terms The James Griffin. What a great spot. Met the owner Tom, who could not have been more friendly and professional. Great staff behind the bar. We had a great night and will be back. Too often we never tell someone when they do a good job, but I saw this poster in the pub inviting comments and feedback and could not resist writing in. Well done to all the team at the James Griffin, Carlsberg don't do pubs, but if they did it would be The James Griffin!

Great pub. Lovely lads in the front bar, always welcoming and having the craic. Sexiest barmaids in town always smiling and happy to serve. Ask for ''Jovita'' for your pint and enjoy the experience. They seem to keep extendind little areas that are always full of interesting people who make you feel so welcome and never short of a word. The major plus is the service and the cleanliness throughtout and of course that homely feel. Keep it up Lenihans

Visited this great pub on my recent & 1st ever visit to Ireland from Australia & it more than met with my expectations as to what an Irish pub should be. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere & with the cold (I'm from Oz remember where it is always mild) the crackling warm fire made me want to stay all night long. Friendly service & great Guinness made my day! I'll be back here again one day, for sure.

Its rare that you find a pub that is a perfect fit for everyone. The exterior hides a large area that suits all your pubing needs. If you want a warm fire lit smoking area its there. If you want a quiet snug to cosy into and listen to music its there. If you want to drink at the bar with the lads its there. This pub has everything. With a fantastic atmosphere and charming staff it really is a diamond. The drink quality is exceptional, the Guiness creamy the Larger crisp. And served by bar staff that seem to have 10 pairs of hands and the memory of an elephant. One of the most comfortable and welcoming pubs I have ever been in.

11/11/2010 Great traditional pub, its old decor adds to its charm, from the front snug to the back room fire, it a home from home feeling as I enter the Pub. It has in my mind one of the best pints in trim. And you can enjoy live music during the week and at weekends, they also have a quiz night which has become very popular, I like to go midweek to flavour the atmosphere. And the charm, you can watch all sports on its many screens throughout the pub. The staffs are very pleasant, and I have to say very good at what they do.

Extremely homely, relaxing and social in the front part of the bar. Old style interior, fireplace, candles etc make for a very warm mood and atmosphere. The pints are excellent. Midweek traditional nights ideally complement the tone the interior of the pub sets. The back part of the bar is great for weekend nights as the nightclub goers are catered for by chart music and additional bars. Overall its a great pub, with great environment, great live music and great company. 5 stars

A few of us arrived in Trim from Mullingar a few weeks ago for an evening to visit a friend and as we had a designated driver we decided to stay around town for a few pints. We were going to do a pub crawl and our friend took us to his local hostelry first, James Griffin's, or Lenehan's as its locally known as. It was a Friday night and after about an hour all thoughts of the pub crawl vanished as we just could not leave the place. There was a rock band playing in the beer garden. We are familiar with this type of stuff in our own home town but what made this place special was the fact that you can smoke, drink and talk while still enjoying the entertainment. Cannot understand why the Sunday World Pub spy has not visited this place because if they did Lenehan's would defintely get a 5 pint rating. The craic was brilliant. The place was packed and it still only took a minute to get served. Never before did we see such excellent bar staff. There was 2 lads and 2 girls behind the counter flat out and so effficient and friendly. The pints were out of this world and the place was spotless. Our designated driver has now designated another driver for a few weeks time and we are all heading back to Trim again for a good Friday night out. We cannot wait.

I have always regarded Lenihans as my pub home from home since I first started using it over 30 years ago. It has always had a clientele, atmosphere, staff and service second to none in this land or any land I have travelled over the years. In recent years, the place HAS improved, and that improvement has only served to INCREASE the excellence that had always been and consistently continues to be achieved by Mick, Tom and all the staff they have working for them. I have been following the pub ratings here relatively closely recently in conjunction with the Snug of the Year competition. I share the almost 100% approval rating the pub receives from its customers, whether regular or occasional. Over the past couple of years, I have been fortunate to have a couple of family events occur which necessitated the visit here of friends from America, Australia, UK and other parts of our own island. On each occasion, I was delighted to be able to bring them all to Lenihans to sample the atmosphere and the drink and the craic. On each occasion, all of them, (every single one of them, both old and young) had a brilliant experience in the pub, many of them taking notes of what Tommy and his staff were doing there and taking it back to their own home places and asking the landlords of their own local pubs at home to copy some or all of the facilities of Lenihans. Congratulations to all who contribute to making the experience of having a night out in Lenihans an occasion to be remembered. You give us a facility that we are all proud to have and to share. And SHAME on the person/s who put up the ratings dated 4th. Oct and 6th. Oct. It is fairly clear that both ratings have come from the same person or possibly 2 people closely associated with each other. The ratings shown for those 2 dates are pretty obviously malicious, since if someone had a genuine grievance they would have outlined that (or those) grievances and would have named themselves. But since there is no comment on one and the other comment is derogatory, and since neither is signed, Im sure that most reasonable people will take them for what they so clearly are, malicious!!!! It may be that they are linked to the Snug competition, they may be linked to anything at all or they may be linked to nothing at all, but whatever they are or are not linked to, they are very obviously NOT TRUE. I say again, SHAME on you for using this site to tell lies, to get even or to do damage. I'm sure the originators of the site didn't mean for it to be used in this way. In these tough times, we need as much positivity as we can get. Hopefully, the emigration plane will take the likes of you away from us. We dont need you or your likes. Keep up the good work, Lenihans. You have a product that we are all proud of. Thank you for that.

Cracking pub full of atmosphere and the service is some thing one has got to see. Good vibe pub with a mix of young and old and lenihans must be doing things right cause the place is always full. Well done Lenihans, its a credit to all involved

We looked high up and low down for this pub called Lenihans in Trim, and eventually we found it under the name of James Griffin. The trick here is to ask the taxi man. The place was out the door on the bank holiday Monday, with traditional music flowing freely throughtout the pub. Mixed age group and the pints were flying. Great beer garden area with heating and the fires were lit. This pub was literally heaving . We thought we were in Temple Bar. Super pub with great service and we will definitly be back when next in Trim.

Unique is the perfect word for The James Griffin, more commonly known in town as 'lenehans'. It's got the lot and owner or managment should be very proud of it.Changed in the last few years since Tom returned to the Helm, Stand up lads and take a bow, ye are way ahead of the rest

Very warm inviting pub with a great atmosphere, there on a traditional music night last Monday and it was brillant. Place was packed and that's an understatment, you could hardly move. It was just awesome. A big thank you to all our friends in Lenihans for finishing off our few days in Ireland on such a huge high. This is what Ireland is all about. We will be back to Lenihans on our next trip for sure. Thank you again for looking after us.

Arrived in trim last weekend and advised to go to Lenihans on our night out. Super spacious pub, clean, attention to detail is very obvious here and the service end was better than brillant. Smoking and beer garden are a treat and the place was wall to wall. Where's the recession here. We had a great night. Thank you to all at Lenihans.great, friendly pub

What can you say about Lenihans that hasn't already been said. Top notch job. From the atmosphere to the service everything is perfect. Has been my local for the last 4 years and you are always in for a good night once you walk in the door. Customer service is alive and well in Lenihans. Tom and all the staff know their trade and ply it excellantly. Highly recommend Lenihans for a saturday night session or quiet Sunday Shandy!

Old world feel to this pub in Trim town centre. Busy it seems most of the time and especially when we were there. We were on a scouting tour of pubs in Trim for our forthcoming wedding for the day after session............This is our type of pub, clean ,friendly and top drawer service. We will let you know later on at the end of summer how we got on...........

Excellent pub with attention to detail of the highest standard. Clean and modern with an olde world feel. Vibrant......even on a thursday nite the place was out the door. Creamy pints of guinness was the order of the nite and they came fast and sharp from the barman called Joe. Pubs across the country should take a lesson from this pub,s book. We will be back.......

Talent was everywhere from front to back, mind you it was saturday nite.In Trim for weekend and recommended by Hotel. Place was heaving...recession, no recession here.Surgically clean like all pubs should be but are not..most impressive smoking area with bars everywhere and staff in uniform in abundance. Bar staff...well these guys and gals have got to be seen to be believed, the most efficent and effective team i have seen in modern time era. Whow, all you need to do is move your finger and the drink is on front of you.Great guinness and the napkin on top of the bottle. Sporty pub with screens all over the place yet places to have a quite drink also. Deceptive from the front, known as lenihans yet james griffin over the door..dont know answer to this one.No food but got some crisps and nuts...it even has a grocery section. Real olde worlde charm inside, recently decorated it seems. this has got to be a Pub Of THE YEAR canidate. Go and see it for yourself...a pub that has everything.

This is the best pub in Trim! Fact. The only problem is that strangers to the town can't find it. The name over the door is ''James Griffin''. The craic is always good, pints are very good, pleanty of variety in this place - sports, music, plenty of talent and most importantly professional barmen who know their trade. Not too many of these places left, this place is a gem. Known as ''HQ'' to the die hard locals who commandeer the front bar!
