Excellent food & well presented if your willing to wait . I would not reccomend bringing kids for dinner here as the waiting is a bit much. We waited well over an hour for our dinner. The waitresses hardly ever came near the table, we had to go looking for them! Dont go there if your not ready to wait ! Prices are average to high.
when ever you get the chance to visit Dungloe,i recommend you to go here as i really enjoyed the food and astmosphere in this lovely place.especially the nice cool pint of Guinness.

Dungloe is a nice little town and this Pub is at the bottom of the hill as you start to leave town headed north. There appeared to be parking behind but of course we didn't see that and parked up the hill. The service was very friendly, the menu selection was very good for a pub, and the seafood was among the best we had in Ireland. A lot of locals ate there while we were there and you know that the locals only eat at the good places. OH YES - and the Smithwick's ale was VERY cold. I liked that!

If you ever are lucky enough to be traveling in Co. Donegal this pub in Dungloe on the Coast is well worth stopping in for excellent food at reasonable prices. Freshest seafood, good portions and a great vibe to the place.
Great pub totaly deceiving from the out side but when you enter the door Wow its amazing not like you would expect but in a good way obviously recently done up cleanliness both in the bar and the toilets of the highest standard.
Staff very friendly and the food was great and very reasonably priced I had Black Sole on the bone for 19.95 unreal. I spoke to the bar man when paying and discovered that he and his brother owned the place I congratulated him on the place his staff he was continually looking all around him chatting to the bar customers serving tables and taking food orders what a great place be sure and visit.

I have visited this bar a few times this year and really havent had a problem with it. I have had two or three meals which have been good and a few drinks which have been fine also. The atmosphere has been good on these occasions but changed when I visited with my boyfriend yesterday. It was a cold, miserable, grey wet day outside and to be quite honest that description just about sums up the staff. We entered through the back door by the carpark and walked throught the restuarant which in fairness was pretty crowded. Looking back it looked possibly like a funeral party of people. We were thristy and hungry and took our place quietly at the bar. A bar man was taking orders from tables and basically looked through us. Then appeared a female behind the bar with a face like thunder who never even acknowledged us in the slightest. She disappeared and re-appeared behind the bar right beside where we were sat and ignored us totally. Ok, maybe they were busy, but it's not hard to acknowledge us as paying customers, apologise for the wait and tell us we would be served shortly, but not a word did she utter. We sat on, giving them the benefit of the doubt for about ten or fifteen minutes without a glance from any of the staff. Then a man who was seated at the bar directly opposite us informed a bar maid that we were waiting to be served. She turned the corner of the bar, looked straight at me and turned back again. Not a HELLO, sorry for the wait or I'll be with you in a minute. The phone rang just after that and she came around the corner of the bar to answer it again right beside where we where sat and totally ignored us. In fact the phone rang again shortly after this and again she avoided eye contact. We sat and sat and eventually decided to go else where as we were so hungry by this stage and totally humiliated by the service offered to us - which was Zero!!! We left by the back door, the same door we came in of and were observed by serveral members of staff who watched as we left, never thinking to apologise or ask if we were ok. I'll as will my boyfriend, definitely think twice about visiting the Bayview in future. Politeness and good manners go along way Bayview, bear that in mind in future!!!!!
restaurant tends to be over crowded with tables on top of one another. Menu is bland, not alot of options.
We are visiting from Canada. We have been to every county on the island and this was the best meal we've had.
Roland from Switzerland
The best pub and food in town
Had our Christmas Party in the Bayview last Friday Night. The food was just amazing, great fun night danced the night away have been going to bring a party to a Party for the last few years no comparison would recommend the Bayview to anyone. Trust me you wont be disappointed.
fantastic food great atmosphere but oh my god the prices are way to high
seems a shame as i could go more often but 120 euros for 3 adults and a child
bit of a drop in standards i feel ,still a good place to go to eat, but a definate drop in standards. We were there again last weekend and having been so impressed on previous visits to Dungloe were left feeling a bit downhearted although the staff were friendly we felt that they wanted rid of us and our food was what can only be described as tired the same could be said for the staff. Hopefully it was just an off day

I recently was here for a short break with friends from Madrid. We ate and had a few drinks in this Bayview. The pub is up there with the best. The Guinness went down well with my spanish friends, and our meal was fantastic. The seafood was the best any of us have had in a long time, the crab claws, mussels, and oh my God.... the lobster !! The very efficient waitress even explained in spanish about the meat AND fish dishes what my Spanish friends couldnt decipher! It topped their night. Do not pass here without calling ! Well worth the visit. We will be back !!!!!
A real treat...absolutely beautiful experience...food fantastic, clinically clean toilets, friendly staff..nothing too much trouble, great value for money. everyone should experience this, it puts all other places i've been to shame.
Exceptional Place. Had the best meals ever! Seafood amazing, presentation excellent, served efficiently and in friendly manner during busy festival. Excellent value for money for evening meal. If you are anywhere in Donegal let alone near Dungloe - a trip to this pub will not dissappoint you. Definately best pub & restuarant visited in Ireland in last ten years.
