Called in one Saturday night and the place was like a morgue. Grumpy bar staff. Got the impression only regulars are welcome. Had one pint and left. Won't be back.

Well run pub. Excellent library with educated clientèle. Talent is only average, though.

Society of Cheeses on Monday, Tuesday is the start of the weekend, Wednesday for Diddley-ie music, Thursday is gay night, Friday weekly gathering of the University of Ticknock Philosophical Society. Saturday and Sunday we accept recruits, victims or spectators on a 'you get one chance' basis. How could that be regarded as clannish FFS!?

I've been off the drink for 10 years now but I still like to pop in here to sit in a quiet corner and read a book. I order a rock shandy and bother no-one and no-one bothers me.

Friendly owner who hosts an all-you-can-eat cheese and biscuit night on Mondays and all tourists are welcome for the Wednesday night singsong. His Irish coffees are awesome !

The quint-essential Irish pub. No one should make a trip to Ireland without stopping at least once at the Roaring Donkey.
