Used to be a great pub new owners complete disaster won't allow any fun ,unbelievably ignorant and mean no people skills at all ...very posh land lady from carla town lol!!! Only saving grace is Theresa barmaid lovely lady ,,,avoid shop at all costs out of date overpriced stock .....so avoid this pub like the itch

onwers have runied the place... i had my babys christening there and weeks coming up to it i thought there would be no problems... BUT the food i asked for was cold they had other stuff i did not ask for and when i complained she said be grateful your not getting charged for the extra food well i think this is out rageous and i do not go there no more also when gerry is on i USED to go in and get a bale of brickettes but once they were 3.45 that evening my husband went up for another one it was 4.25, charge through the roof... and the food in the pub and shop is bad i hate this place i would rather drink and eat out of a bin and least the food would be nicer

Hey they DON`T do Food forget it. Nice little pub though, but no atmosphere pity this commment section so easy to access those who bear a grudge can write anything they want. Sick to see those who leave any deaceny commeny being slandered by those who just want to be bad. Ratemypub.ie should take control if they wany to be kown as an aothuraity on Irish Pubs. until then see www.vfi.ie for the real deal

Very Dissapoining food is non existant and dogy, cany recommend it as aplace to eat, even if your stuck! Pub is fine But owners are too strict, they ruin any atmosphere

The finest pints in the area consistently and at a very fair p[rice. The food is also top notch, service is also excellent with a friendly atmosphere. Those who have made the harsh comments have obviously forgotten where they are as the must think that ardattin is a metropolis--- wake up and smell the green diesel your in the country lads and its a fantastic country pub.

I visited this bar while at a wedding in ballykealty house in balon recently and I have to say I found it very good. The food was really good (I had a steak - my wife had pasta) Cooked properly, well presented and really tasty. The pint (guinness) is the best i've had in a long time, and there was a real good buzz about the place as it was quite busy at the time. Cant fault it really as is what I do most on this site!

The atmosphere is dead from what it once was. I like the persons comment about bringing back George, because they are so right the pub was kicking back then.The new owners are nice people but they need to relax a little n bring back the fun aspect to this community pub. The food is not impressive at all though. hope for new changes in 2008. Regards, Shane Rooney

The present owners have ruined the whole place. It used to be a community pub, with pool, darts and a juke box. All gone now.! Atmosphere is almost zero. They are trying to create a five star place with a one star rating. Bring back George Johnson and his amazing (packed house) Saturday nights..!

I dunno who has wrote the last few comments but i visited this pub on advice for food last Sunday. Service was poor, pint was crap, no atmosphere and the food itself was not nice. Maybe its better on a Saturday night but definitley midday on a Sunday needs improvement.
