Cork began as a monastic settlement of St. Finbar in the sixth century. It is known as The Rebel County, and Corkonians often refer to it as the "real capital of Ireland". Places of interest include Kinsale, Cobh and of course the Blarney Stone. Don't forget to visit in October for the world famous Cork Jazz Festival.
